da winzada777: West Bromwich Albion’s promotion train steamed onto the next stop after a third successive victory saw them keep hold of top spot in the Championship table.
Slaven Bilic’s side defeated Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon but were certainly made to work for all three points in the absence of midfield duo Jake Livermore and Romaine Sawyers.
The Baggies needed an 88th-minute penalty from Charlie Austin to seal the win, and now it is on the 30-year-old to keep hold of his place in the side.

There are just under five weeks left until the January transfer window opens, just 146 days after the Croatian chief closed Albion’s window with a flurry of deadline day arrivals.

That spot-kick was just his second of this Championship campaign after 12 appearances, which is a rather paltry return for a man that has been widely recognised for his prolific exploits in this very division – he has scored 67 goals in 140 regular season matches.
Hal Robson-Kanu has been preferred to the fellow 30-year-old in recent weeks and that decision paid off in the first half as the Welshman fired home from Matheus Pereira’s exquisite through ball for the opening goal of the game.
The club have also been linked with a return for Dwight Gayle in the winter window, so it is a fair judgement to say that Austin’s place in the side is under serious threat currently.
