da betano casino: West Ham United are interested in signing Spanish midfielder Joan Jordan this summer, according to The Daily Star.
What’s the story?
da bwin: A top ten finish was by no means a terrible end-of-season result for the Hammers last term but like every club around them they have ambitions of making a move towards those top six teams who dominate the European positions in the Premier League.
To do that manager Manuel Pellegrini must recruit smartly this summer, with the budget available at West Ham inevitably less than some of the mega-rich teams above them in the table.
One player he’s looking at, say The Star, is Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan.
The paper reckon the La Liga regular has a release clause of £13.3m in his contract, making him an attractive and affordable option for the Hammers.
Who is your club’s worst ever January signing? The Pl>ymaker FC squad have picked theirs in the video below and they didn’t disappoint…
Where does he fit in?
Jordan is a versatile player, able to play both on the flanks and through the middle of the midfield whether in a defensive role or a ‘number 10’ role.
His passing vision and creativity are his big talents, potentially able to provide a key playmaking role for Pellegrini next season.
A key pass average of 1.9 per game in La Liga last term is higher than anyone in the West Ham squad managed in the Premier League during the same period.
It’s his crossing and long balls that would add a unique threat to West Ham though, averaging 1.8 crosses and 4.8 long balls per game last season.
That suggests he has a vision beyond most of the outfield players in the Hammers side, with many midfield stars falling well below both averages across the season.
Also pitching into Eibar’s season with four goals and four assists, he would add a bit of extra attacking ambition from midfield that could be great for West Ham next season, with more goals needed on the board to climb up the table.
Creative flair is much needed at the London Stadium and Jordan checks that box superbly.
