As reported by The Mirror, Manchester United are ready to make a January transfer window move for Tottenham Hotspur star Danny Rose.
What’s the story?
The left-back position has become something of a problem one for Jose Mourinho this season with nobody really stepping up to make it their own. The likes of Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind have all been used to varying success, while there’s been little sign of Luke Shaw making a first team impact.
It seems it’ll be a key area for Jose Mourinho in the upcoming transfer window with The Mirror reporting he’s ready to make a £40m move for Tottenham defender Danny Rose.
The paper say they could even also offer Luke Shaw as part of the deal.
Does Rose have enough quality to make an impact at Old Trafford?
The right choice?
The England international has had a storied career to this point, with ups and downs, but emerged last season as one of the most exciting full-backs in the league, providing Tottenham with a dynamic attacking presence on the left flank, with the defensive solidity to do the job at the back too.
He could be a real delight in Jose Mourinho’s side if given free reign to play the same role that he has in Mauricio Pochettino’s side. At 27 years of age he is coming into his peak years and has enough of a career ahead of him to become a mainstay at Old Trafford, providing a permanent solution to a problem position.
Ambitious and determined to win trophies, a move to Manchester for the England international could be a match made in heaven.
