da bet vitoria: Having the final say on what has been an incredible 2016 in the beautiful game, and particularly the Premier League, are Liverpool and Manchester City, who meet at Anfield just a matter of hours before Jools Holland takes us into the New Year.
da stake casino: FootballFanCast are pretty excited about this fixture for one obvious reason; they’ve scored a combined 84 goals in the Premier League already this season and played some of the best football in the division in the process.
Indeed, Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have brought the two clubs closer together than possibly ever before, in terms of results, form and style of play, as their respective sides look to close in on Chelsea’s lead at the Premier League summit.
And in the build-up to what is our final Fixture in Focus of 2016, we asked Liverpool fans earlier this week to vote for which Manchester City stars they’d like to see join the ranks at Anfield.
Well, the results are now in at FootballFanCast can exclusively reveal the top five Manchester City stars Liverpool fans want to sign…
5. Leroy Sane
Leroy Sane’s had to wait for his chances at Manchester City but preceded by a prodigious reputation from his time with FC Schalke, Liverpool fans clearly rate the summer signing highly.
He certainly looks like a promising prospect, with speed and skill in abundance, and Jurgen Klopp would surely love to get his hands on the 20-year-old German international.
In fact, he’d be a great stand-in for in-form winger Sadio Mane, who’s set to depart Anfield for the African Cup of Nations.
4. David Silva
David Silva’s shown signs of age this season and appears to be taking a backwards step in the current City squad, allowing some of his younger midfield accomplices to claim the limelight.
Nonetheless, the Spaniard remains one of the greatest No.10s in Premier League history and even if his powers are waning, he’s still capable of producing match-deciding moments of brilliance.
He may be a little different to Jurgen Klopp’s usual template of midfielder, but the German would surely find room for Silva in Liverpool’s starting line-up.
3. Ilkay Gundogan
Having flourished into a top-class midfielder under Jurgen Klopp’s direction at Borussia Dortmund, we’re not surprised to see Ilkay Gundogan make the top five.
The German international was a key part of the Black-Yellows side that unexpectedly reached the 2013 Champions League final and enjoyed a decent enough start to his Manchester City career before injury unfortunately caught up with him again, ruling the 26-year-old out of action for the remainder of the season.
He’d be an impressive upgrade on summer signing Georginio Wijnaldum – not that the Dutchman has disgraced himself in Liverpool colours.
2. Sergio Aguero
The central striker role has been the cause of common debate on Merseyside this season, with Daniel Sturridge pushed down the pecking order, Christian Benteke sent packing to Crystal Palace and Roberto Firmino operating as a false nine for much of the campaign.
Signing Sergio Aguero would put any arguments to bed; the Argentine is one of the top front-men in world football, boasting an outrageous return of 112 goals in 162 appearances for the Citizens.
Agile, mobile and energetic – not to mention being a one-man goal machine – the South American would suit Jurgen Klopp’s high-pressing game perfectly.
1. Kevin De Bruyne
Having seemingly inherited City’s talisman status from the aforementioned David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne is one of the leading midfield talents in world football, combining impeccable technique with a phenomenal footballing brain, a desire to find the net and box-to-box energy.
Pretty much every team in the world would find room for the Belgium international, who has bagged nine goals and two assists in 17 Premier League appearances this season – and hit the post a staggering six times.
He’d be perfect for Liverpool’s dynamic engine room but something tells us City aren’t particularly interested in selling the 25-year-old.
