The Norwegian manager seems to be looking towards a certain mould of player in the transfer market though, as this summer saw United sign a number of promising British players.
Indeed, Dan James, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all joined the club during Solskjaer’s first window as the permanent manager, and one of ESPN’s pundits believes he won’t veer too far away from that strategy next summer either.
Steve Nicol claimed that the 20-time champions of England will be looking towards Declan Rice and James Maddison in order to bolster their midfield.
It remains to be seen whether United actually move for either player next year, but with the plaudits that both Rice and Maddison have been getting as of late, they may well turn out to be excellent targets.
